Events Manager

£25,000 - £30,000 a year

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced events manager to join our management team, to plan, organise and run a wide variety of events throughout the year.

You’ll work closely with our venue operations team and outside marketing team to continue to build our reputation as the areas no.1 destination venue.

The role is varied, from planning wedding receptions and business meetings to our regular themed nights such as our bottomless brunches. You’ll also take the lead with key events throughout the year such as Nantwich Jazz Festival, Nantwich Food and Drink Festival, Christmas and New Year.

You will be required to work 45 hours per week across a 7-day rota. In return you will be rewarded with a competitive salary, annual bonus and commission scheme, 29 days holiday and an excellent pension scheme.

The role is varied, we are looking for a real self-starter that can cope well and thrive under pressure, someone flexible and very organised.

Your role is to plan and organise promotional, business, and social events. You will be responsible for running a range of events, ensuring the target audience is engaged and the message of the event is marketed properly. Events play a huge part in the success of our business therefore this is a crucial role.

You'll manage the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation. This is a hands-on role and requires a high amount of cross functional team working, you’ll work closely with key departments such as the kitchen, bar and front of house team.

You will also be responsible for your events team, including recruitment, development and training and rostering.

You will be supported by the wider venue management team as well as back-office support from HR and Finance.

The nature of the job, means it can be hectic at times, so you will need to be resilient and not afraid of a challenge, reacting to things as they arise.

Your main responsibilities will include;

  • liaise with guests to find out their exact event requirements
  • produce detailed proposals for events (including timelines, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets) in a timely manner
  • research suppliers and contractors, then negotiate prices and hire
  • manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics
  • liaise with marketing team to publicise and promote the event
  • manage all pre-event planning.
  • coordinate suppliers, handle client queries and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly.
  • manage a team of staff, giving full briefings
  • oversee the dismantling and removal of the event and clear the venue efficiently
  • produce post-event evaluation to inform future events
  • research opportunities for new clients and events.


You'll need to have:

Although you don't need degree to become an event manager, a degree or HND in event management, hotel or catering management, leisure and tourism, marketing or business may be useful to you in the role. We are much more interested in your skills, personal qualities, and experience in the industry than any degree.

The role is flexible, and you will be required to plan your own time effectively, we are flexible with the successful candidate working at points throughout the week, all the tools will be provided to allow you to do your job from any location. The role will require regular work at some points during evenings and weekends, although we do not expect the successful candidate to personally host every event, a hands on approach is preferable within your working week.
